An Evasive Fellow

Text of Poem

Lust worries the
good people, he’s a
devil of a fellow,
a worm i’ the bud.
They call him snake
and poke him out of
hiding places. They
think they beat him
to death with laws
and ordinances only
to find it was last year’s
skin they nailed to the
barn door.
